People have quickly got used to these changes for the better and so can quickly forget how the city centre was choked with traffic, how hard it was to get from one side of the river to the other.

A whole city narrative portraying the city history, culture and past as a whole is dotted and spread throughout the city architecture and infrastructure. The bridges play a key role in connecting the city and its various functions.

JRBAN SYSTEM; Compacting Ljubljana 2007 – 2013

The city layout has been developed organically outwards, the city core disperses along 7 main arteries forming a star like formation. The result of linear urbanization along arterial roads creates natural un-built green wedges, between the star legs.

DE-CENRALIZED - CENTRALIZATION

A key plan in Ljubljana is the idea of de-centralized planning, the idea the smaller city hubs would be placed out off the main city, to provide less strain within the key city center, also allowing further pedestrianization.

The City Has a vast green surrounding, 5 key green wedges connect the city with a series of paths, rivers, cycle lanes and routes, through a range of typographies.

The red dots indicate the path of remembrance a path, which connects through the city and all 5 wedges.

The path also outlines a part of the cities history, being placed along the exact placement of a fence built by the Germans, which previously encompassed the city during the Second World War.
